What documents do I need to scrap my car?
To scrap your car, you’ll need to provide photo ID and proof of address. While not essential, if you have your V5C registration document (log-book), this may simplify the process.
Can I scrap my car without a V5C (log-book)?
We can scrap your vehicle without your V5C. However, the person who collects your car will need to see proof of ID and address and you’ll need to make sure you inform the DVLA that your car has been scrapped: We can advise you how to do this.
Will you haggle on collection or say that there are hidden fees?
No, there are no hidden fees and so long as the car is complete the price you’ve been offered is the price you’ll be paid – guaranteed! A complete car is one with all its wheels, body panels, engine, gearbox and original exhaust and catalytic converter, all on the car.
Will you give me an exact time for my collection?
Yes, we will. After accepting a quote to scrap your car, you’ll be able to choose from a selection of available collection slots that are available. Drivers will then contact you on collection day and keep you regularly updated about their arrival time.
Do I have to be present when the car is collected?
We require someone to be with the car when it is collected but it doesn’t have to be the owner or registered keeper. If it won’t be you, please ensure your nominated person has a piece of valid photo ID they can show the person collecting the car (a driving licence is ideal).
Will I be paid before the car is collected?
No. The car must be inspected before payment to ensure it is complete. Payment will be made by bank transfer promptly after collection.
