Will you take my personalised number plate with the car?

No. You can quickly and easily remove your registration mark from the car using the DVLA’s online service. It’s important to make sure this is done before the car is scrapped though, as it can be difficult or impossible to get it back when the car’s dismantled.

Am I paid after collection?

If you have the log book, it’s simpler for you if you don’t dispose of it. As the registered owner of the vehicle, it’s your responsibility to make sure the DVLA are informed of any changes to ownership – and you can do that quickly with the V5C/3 form (the yellow part of the log book marked as ‘section 9’). What happens if I can’t find my keys?
