Is it okay for me to keep my stereo?

Yes, no problem. We’ll just ask that the original stereo is put back in its place. This will help to maximise the value of your vehicle.

What do I do with the V5C (log book) when you pick my car up?

When you sell or transfer your car to a motor trader or dismantler, you must both complete section 9 of the V5C log book document. When this is complete, it should be sent to the DVLA - who will update their records. It’s your responsibility to do this, but the person who collects your car will be happy to help.

Why are scrap prices different for different types of car?

For scrap purposes, the value of a car is based on how much it weighs – and because different cars weigh different amounts, this will often mean the price varies. Please ensure your nominated person can provide our collection partner with a form of photo ID to confirm their identity. If you are not providing a V5C log book document with your car, please also ensure the person working on your behalf can also show a utility bill dated within the last 3 months.
