What does the term ELV mean?

An ELV is an ‘End of Life Vehicle’ – the official term used to describe a car that has come to the end of being useful; either through wear and tear or accident damage. All ELVs must be depolluted and dismantled at government approved Authorised Treatment Facilities.

Can you pick my car up without me there?

Yes, that’s fine. We will require someone to be with the car – but it doesn’t have to be the registered owner or keeper. If it’s not going to be you, our collection partner will need to see a form a photo ID from your nominated person (a passport or driving licence is ideal) and, if you don’t have the DVLA V5C document, proof of their address. These are needed to make sure our partners are abiding by the strict law surrounding scrap metal collections.
