Can I get paid before you collect?

No. You’ll be paid after collection – giving our scrap partners a chance to check that the car is both present – and has been described accurately when we issued a price.

My insurance company have asked for a COD – what is that, and do you supply them?

A COD (Certificate of Destruction) is an DVLA form that confirms your car has been officially disposed of. The COD is sent to the scrap yard that handles your vehicle – and they’ll make sure a copy is forwarded to you.

Since accepting the quote, I've changed my mind?

If you change your mind, please let us know as soon as possible. We’ll do our very best to cancel your quote – and make sure you’re not charged for a wasted journey.

What if I have no keys?

We have collection partners that are equipped to collect cars in any condition; so missing keys will not be a problem.

What do I do with the logbook?

You’ll need to complete section 9 of the V5C log book. It’s your responsibility to return it to the DVLA to confirm the transfer to a motor trader. Don’t worry though, your collection partner will show you exactly what to fill in, and make sure the paperwork is completed and correct before they leave.

Do I need to be present at the time of collection?

No. If you wish, you can choose a nominated person over the age of 18 to be with the car instead. Your chosen person will need to be over the age of 18 and able to show a form of photo ID to our collection partner’s driver. If the V5C document isn’t available at that time, then they will also need a utility bill from the previous 3 months that shows their address.
