What is an ELV?

ELV is short for ‘End of Life Vehicle’ – the industry name used to describe a car that is no longer suitable for use on the road. Although some ELVs are safely restored – classic cars for example – most are not, and will be dismantled and recycled at an authorised scrap yard.
