I want to scrap my Vauxhall, but it has a private plate – what should I do?

Assuming you want to keep your private registration, you’ll need to officially remove it from the car before your collection day. Doing so is easily done – you’ll just need to use the DVLA’s number plate retention service. When complete, you’ll be able to reuse the number plate on another suitable vehicle.
